Heritage Lacrosse

Pat Carney

Pat played at Springfield High school and was part of the Central League championship team in 1981 and 1982. He helped lead the Cougars to the Pennsylvania Lacrosse Association Championship in 1982. Pat was All-Central in 1981 (at attack) and in 1982 (as a goalie). Pat permanently switched to goalie at Swarthmore College, where he co –captained the team in 1986 and was MVP. At Swarthmore, Pat earned All Conference honors in 1984, 1985 and 1986, and was All-American his senior year. At the club level, he minded the nets for Eagles Eye Lacrosse Club 1987-1993 and the MAB Philadelphia Lacrosse Club 1994-1999, both of which competed for national club championships before the advent of the outdoor professional leagues . Pat received All-USCLA recognition on several occasions, and played for the Philadelphia Wings from 1988-1990. In 2006, Pat also played for Team Ireland, and still plays at the Master’s level. Pat was an assistant at Swarthmore College, and has been a head coach at Haven Youth Lacrosse, Penn Star and Mesa Fresh programs (currently coaching Mesa 2019) and was an assistant at Strath Haven High School. He is a co-founder of Titan Lacrosse and Heritage Lacrosse.
